MAYOR GIULIANI AND MAYOR CAMPBELL OF ATLANTA WAGER ON METS - BRAVES PLAYOFF SERIES

Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani and Mayor Bill Campbell of Atlanta, Georgia, set wagering terms on the outcome of the National League Championship Series between the New York Mets and the Atlanta Braves.

If the Mets win, Mayor Campbell owes Mayor Giuliani a "slab" of ribs, a case Georgia peanuts, a case of locally brewed Red Brick Ale and an autographed baseball from Hank Aaron. He also agrees to wear a Mets baseball cap in public. Should the Braves win, Mayor Giuliani will send Mayor Campbell a case of Brooklyn Lager Beer, Junior's cheesecake, two dozen bagels from H&H Bagels, an autographed baseball from Mets-legend Tom Seaver and agrees to wear a Braves baseball cap in public.

"The Amazin' Mets are on a roll," said Mayor Giuliani. "After a great series against the Diamondbacks the Mets are on their way to their first World Series appearance since 1986. With the Yankees battling it out with the Red Sox in Boston and the Mets in the Atlanta, I think it's only appropriate that the World Series should be held somewhere in between, and I can think of no better place than New York City, The Baseball Capital of the World."
