MAYOR RUDOLPH W. GIULIANI REGARDING JOHN F. KENNEDY JR.:

"Once again, I want to express our sympathy, our support, and our prayers to the Kennedy and Bessette families. This is a very long ordeal and we are praying that there is some kind of resolution which we can make sense of.

John F. Kennedy Jr., his wife Carolyn Bessette, and her sister Lauren, made New York City their home. John was an active and engaged New Yorker, which is one of the reasons why so many of us feel a special connection to him. They will be sorely missed.

The City will respectfully follow the requests of the Kennedy and Bessette families. It would be premature for us to discuss any sort of plans at this point. However, the City is ready to provide any assistance needed by the families."
