STATEMENT BY MAYOR RUDOLPH W. GIULIANI ON TODAY'S
DECISION BY THE APPELLATE DIVISION
"Today's unanimous 5-0 decision by the Appellate Division First Department upholds the integrity of the City Charter and is a victory for government over politics. In a reasoned opinion, the court unanimously reversed the lower court's decision that would have eliminated the ballot precedence that a Charter Revision referendum is guaranteed over other referenda.
Because of the decision, this November New York City voters will have the opportunity to consider an important campaign finance reform proposal."
