Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani released the following statement concerning the decision by a Brooklyn jury to sentence defendant Darrell K. Harris to death:
"This willful taking of three innocent lives is precisely the kind of heinous crime the State contemplated when it reinstated the death penalty three years ago. I hope today's decision brings some measure of justice to the victims' families and that it deters others from taking human life."
