MAYOR GIULIANI HELPS SANTA CLAUS DELIVER TOYS AT COMMUNITY MAYOR'S CHRISTMAS PARTY FOR CHILDREN

Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani joined Santa Claus today in delivering gifts and toys to over 8,000 children with disabilities as part of the Community Mayors annual Operation Santa Claus at John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens.

"The Holiday Season always brings out the best in New Yorkers," said Mayor Giuliani. "It's a time to give and to share with friends, family and those less fortunate. Throughout the year the Community Mayors exemplify the true spirit of the Holiday Season by sponsoring a series of events that benefit thousands of children. It's wonderful that during the Holiday Season, through Operation Santa Claus, the Community Mayors continue to delight children with disabilities from the Greater New York area."

The Community Mayors Children's Fund is a non-political, not-for-profit national organization made up of community and business leaders who provide recreational therapy for children with disabilities. Each year, the Community Mayors sponsor a series of events benefiting more than 80,000 children nationwide, many of whom use wheelchairs.
