The 32nd annual Hispanic Parade will take place next Sunday, October 13th, along Fifth Avenue. It will feature Hispanic New Yorkers from every Spanish-speaking country in the world.
"For 32 years, the Hispanic Parade has galvanized New York's Hispanic community, providing a day of celebration, reflection and pride for New Yorkers of Hispanic descent," said Mayor Giuliani. "New York is the world's most diverse City and the Hispanic Parade showcases the diversity within this community. Hispanics have made remarkable progress and the parade serves as a showcase for this vibrant and vital community."
Deputy Mayor Segarra said, "Hispanic Americans from all over the world come together to celebrate our common heritage. With so many Spanish-speaking countries in South and Central America, the Caribbean and Europe, we celebrate the many cultures that are unique to each country and take pride in our own cultural identity."
"I am honored to lead the group of men and women who take so much pride in promoting Hispanic cultural heritage," said Mr. Maldonado. "I am grateful to Mayor Giuliani for his steadfast support of the parade's objectives."
