MAYOR GIULIANI AND MAYOR OF ARLINGTON, TEXAS
MAKE WAGER ON PLAY-OFF SERIES
Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani today wagered Mayor Richard Greene, of Arlington, Texas on the outcome of the American League Divisional Playoff Series between the NY Yankees and the Texas Rangers. If the Yankees win, Mayor Greene owes Mayor Giuliani a pair of authentic Texas cowboy boots. If the Rangers win, Mayor Greene will receive a pair of tickets to a hit Broadway show from Mayor Giuliani.
"As a life-long Yankee fan, I am really looking forward to watching the Yankees sweep the playoffs and ultimately win the World Series," said Mayor Giuliani. "I hope that Mayor Greene remembers my foot size, because I plan to be wearing my new pair of Texas-made cowboy boots to the first game of the World Series."
This is not the first wager that Mayor Giuliani has made on a New York sports team. In the past, the Mayor has won bets after the winning streaks of both the Rangers and the Knicks.
