MAYOR GIULIANI PRAISES NYPD AND DOI FOR ROLE LEADING TO THE ARREST OF TWO SANITATION EMPLOYEES
Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani said, "Today's announcement of the Federal criminal prosecution of two New York City Department of Sanitation workers on charges that they schemed to steal $2 million worth of Sanitation Department garbage trucks was the direct result of the work of the New York City Police Department, which initiated the investigation, and the Department of Investigation which subsequently joined the investigation along with the United States Attorney's Office. I wish to congratulate the two City agencies for their effective collaboration with the Federal prosecutor to catch and prosecute these corrupt City employees."
