STATEMENT OF MAYOR MICHAEL R. BLOOMBERG ON AGREEMENT BETWEEN 32BJ SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION AND THE REALTY ADVISORY BOARD

"Tonight's agreement is great news for 30,000 service professionals, thousands of the City's building owners, and hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers that might have been affected by a strike. The leadership on both sides - Mike Fishman for 32BJ and Howard Rothschild for the Realty Advisory Board - deserve a lot of credit for staying at the table and working hard to find a resolution that avoids a costly strike. In these difficult financial times we appreciate that both sides were able to work creatively to create real cost savings that could be translated into wage increases for hard working employees."
