MAYOR BLOOMBERG AND YANKEES GREAT MIKE MUSSINA TO CHEER ON SOUTH SHORE NATIONAL LITTLE LEAGUE TEAM AT LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL WORLD SERIES IN WILLIAMSPORT, PENNSYLVANIA

Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg will be joined by former Yankees great Mike Mussina tomorrow in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to cheer on Staten Island’s South Shore National Little League team in the 63rd Little League Baseball World Series. South Shore is the Mid-Atlantic Region Champion and will play the Northwest Region Champion Mercer Island Little League from Mercer Island, Washington at 1:00 PM in the opening game of the tournament. Mike Mussina is leader in promoting healthy youth athletics, serving as a member of the Little League International Board of Directors.

“The South Shore Little Leaguers have already made us all proud and the entire City is pulling for them,” said Mayor Bloomberg.  “I will be rooting hard for them to bring home the title to New York City.  I can’t wait to join Staten Islanders, especially the proud parents, and Yankees great Mike Mussina to cheer on South Shore.”
