STATEMENT BY MAYOR MICHAEL R. BLOOMBERG ON RESIGNATION OF FIRST DEPUTY PRESS SECRETARY JENNIFER E. FALK
"For nearly ten years, Jennifer Falk has served City government with passion and dedication, and our Administration has been fortunate to have her in City Hall for the last five years, tirelessly shaping our approach to communications. I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from Jennifer's commitment to our City as she begins her work as Executive Director of the Union Square Partnership.
"As First Deputy Press Secretary, Jennifer worked to further our Administration's five-borough economic development strategy. Collaborating closely with Deputy Mayor for Economic Development and Rebuilding Dan Doctoroff, his team and the City's economic development agencies, her efforts reinforced the news that New York is in its strongest economic position in decades with record numbers of jobs, housing starts, tourists, and residents over the last five years.
"Throughout her tenure, Jennifer's efforts to foster an open dialogue between the Administration, the media, and our many partners in both the public and private sectors paved the way to create many new and innovative ways to promote our City. She has been a key player in many of our Administration's most ambitious projects and important events, including coordinating the City's annual commemoration ceremonies to mark the anniversary of the September 11th attacks. She has proven herself a capable leader in times of stress and crisis, and has been an invaluable part of our achievements over the last five years.
"While she will be missed at City Hall, I know she will excel in her new role at the Union Square Partnership, taking the organization to new heights, and I wish her every happiness and success going forward."
