STATEMENT FROM MAYOR BLOOMBERG ON ADDITIONAL FEDERAL FUNDING FOR NEW YORK CITY WORLD TRADE CENTER HEALTH PROGRAMS

“September 11, 2001 was an attack on our nation that deserves a national response.  As New York City expands our efforts to help the men and women who selflessly responded in the days and months following those attacks, the restoration of these federal funds is crucial help.  On behalf all 8.2 million New Yorkers, I want to thank Congress and especially the New York City Congressional Delegation for their tireless work on this issue.  Nonetheless, New York City will continue to seek additional state and federal funds to provide the necessary medical care and treatment to the brave men and women who participated in the recovery work at the World Trade Center, and we look forward to announcing future successes together.”
