STATEMENT BY MAYOR MICHAEL R. BLOOMBERG ON MUSICIANS’ STRIKE

“Broadway theaters epitomize our City’s rich cultural and artistic tradition.  They provide thousands of jobs to New Yorkers, attract millions of tourists and generate billions of dollars of economic activity. In these challenging times, the darkening of Broadway casts a long shadow over the heart of the Big Apple. I urge the theater owners and musicians’ union to resolve their differences as quickly as possible, so we can put the hustle and bustle back into Times Square and re-light the Great White Way.”
