Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani today announced new round-trip service for the upcoming "Ferry Series" between the Staten Island Yankees and the Brooklyn Cyclones. The John A. Noble ferry, which first sails July 14th, will offer ballpark-to-ballpark service for fans attending any of the eight games during the Ferry Series. Joining Mayor Giuliani was Iris Weinshall, Commissioner of the City's Department of Transportation (DOT).
Mayor Giuliani said, "You've heard of the Subway Series between the Yankees and the Mets. Today I'm pleased to announce the Ferry Series between the City's newest baseball teams -- the Staten Island Yankees and the Brooklyn Cyclones. This unique, round-trip ferry service will go between St. George and Coney Island on the eight different dates when these two teams play each other. It will give fans an easy way to catch their teams playing at rival venues -- not to mention a beautiful way to see our City, which, after all, comprises three islands and a peninsula."
Commissioner Weinshall said, "DOT is delighted to offer this ferry service. It will give fans of both teams the easiest way to get to games -- avoiding the roadways and instead sailing the City's beautiful waterways and harbors. We hope taking this ferry will become a City tradition -- along with taking in baseball games at these beautiful new ballparks."
The ferry schedule
will be as follows:

will depart approximately 30 minutes after the end of each game. Those interested
in buying tickets to remaining games may call the Keyspan Park box office
at 718-449-TIXS (for the Brooklyn Cyclones) or the Richmond County Bank Ballpark
