MAYOR GIULIANI PROMOTES PAINT THE TOWN RED: NEW YORK CITY'S WINTER CELEBRATION

Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani was joined by NYC & Company President & CEO Cristyne Lategano-Nicholas today to promote this year's Paint the Town Red: New York City's Winter Celebration. This year's celebration, which began on January 5th and will run through February 28th, will offer visitors and residents savings at more than 250 restaurants, hotels, theaters and cultural institutions throughout the City's five boroughs.

As part of the Paint the Town Red celebrations, this year's Winter Restaurant Week, which will take place from January 29th through February 2nd, will offer three--course prix-fixe lunches at more than 100 of the City's best restaurants for only $20.01(not including beverage, tax and gratuity.) In addition, the Insider's Hour program which offers 60 minute highlight tours at more than 60 cultural institutions including museums, performing arts centers, botanical gardens, zoos and historical sites, will run through March 31st.

"This year's Paint the Town Red Winter Celebration will provide New Yorkers and visitors alike the opportunity to take advantage of great deals at more than 250 businesses, restaurants and cultural institutions," said Mayor Giuliani. "Winter is a great time of the year in New York City and I encourage everyone this winter to get out and Paint the Town Red."

NYC & Company President & CEO Cristyne Lategano-Nicholas said, "Red represents warmth, romance, celebration and fun. Painting the Town Red, of course, represents going out and taking advantage of all the great things New York has to offer."
