Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani and J&R Music and Computer World co--owner Rachelle Friedman today cut the ribbon officially opening a new six-story, 50,000 square foot computer and technology megastore located at One Park Row in Lower Manhattan. This new store is the latest addition to J&R Music and Computer World's computer, music and electronics complex located on Park Row.

"By expanding its presence on Park Row, J&R Music and Computer World helps this entire neighborhood," said Mayor Giuliani. "J&R leads the way in what has become the shining economic renewal of this neighborhood. On behalf of all New Yorkers, I would like to thank J&R Music and Computer World for almost three decades of being a great corporate citizen in Lower Manhattan."

Each of the six floors will specialize in different products and services. The mezzanine level will house the "Build Your Own Computer" store, where customers can create their own workstation to their personal specifications; the mobile center will be located on the first floor; the second floor will feature video games and game software; the third floor will house the digital photography center; and the fourth floor will contain a business center, which will serve the needs of businesses, large and small.

"We are thrilled to kick off our 30th anniversary year with the opening of our new computer and technology megastore," said J&R Music and Computer World co--owner Rachelle Friedman. "Our dedicated and loyal customers who have come to depend on us for all of their computing needs will enjoy an even greater depth of selection with the same high standard of customer service."
