Working families earning less than $42,000 may be eligible for up to $6,500 from the EITC alone
The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is a refundable credit that returns federal, state, and New York City tax dollars to qualifying families and individuals to help cover basic expenses. The refund amount varies depending on your income and marital and parental status.
Basic Requirements to Qualify for EITC:

- You must have a valid Social Security Number.
Individuals with an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) are not
eligible to claim the EITC.

part-time, or self-employment work).
