Enrollee benefits under the NYC Local Brownfield Cleanup Program

To help enrollees navigate through complex brownfield programs, The Mayor's Office of Environmental Remediation (OER) aims to provide 'one-stop' remediation services by working to coordinate remedial work performed by enrollees under the New York City Local Brownfield Cleanup Program (LBCP) with other City and State agencies. A green team of city experts will be available to assist enrollees in various aspects of the remedial program.  To achieve the sustainability goals established in PlaNYC, OER will offer enrollees in the LBCP the opportunity to participate in our paperless remediation pilot program by submitting electronic documents instead of paper and ink documentation to conserve valuable resources.  Meetings between OER and LBCP enrollees to create approvable cleanup work plans are critical to achieving prompt cleanup of city properties. OER is working to reduce the environmental and societal 'costs' of this process by minimizing traffic-related carbon emissions and associated urban congestion through conducting meetings via video- and tele-conferencing.
