BIG Program Quickstart



The BIG Program Quickstart page provides all of the materials needed to apply to the NYC BIG Program (see the Quickstart Application Download Table below), as well as a simple series of Quickstart Grant Eligibility Questions to help determine which grant to apply for. Quickstart Application Download Table

The following table contains downloadable PDF documents for all of the materials needed to apply to the NYC BIG Program. The table also contains supporting documentation that will assist in navigating the BIG Program.

For each grant type identified at the top of each column, there are a number of grants that can be applied for using the application in that column.  See Quickstart Grant Eligibility Questions to find out which grant applies to you.

Quickstart Grant Eligibility Questions

The following set of questions help an applicant understand the eligibility requirements associated with the different grant types in the BIG Program. Some questions require that the applicant have an understanding of basic terminology associated with NYC’s brownfield programs. Links to the corresponding definitions are provided. If a question does not apply to your project, simply move to the next question.

1 Is your property located in one of New York City's 5 boroughs?

  • If YES, continue to Question 2.
  • If NO, you are not eligible for a NYC BIG Program grant.

Is your property enrolled in the NYC Brownfield Cleanup Program?

Is your property potentially contaminated; in other words, is your site a Qualifying Brownfield Property?

 

4 Is your project a Preferred Community Development Project?

 

5Is your organization the recipient of a Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) grant from the NYS Department of State?

 

6Is your organization a community group interested in applying for a Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) grant from the NYS Department of State?

 

7Does your property have a New York City Hazardous Materials E-Designation or Restrictive Declaration?

NYC Brownfield Incentive Grant (BIG) Program applications are fillable PDF forms. In order to enter application information:
  1. You must have Adobe Reader 8 or above. 
  2. Type into the fillable form. 
  3. When you save the file, your form entries will be saved.

Submitting an application

Applications may be sent via e-mail, along with the required attachments, to the BIG Program Administrator at Grants@NYCBIG.info.  Pages requiring applicant signature must be submitted as hard copy originals.  Alternatively, see the application cover page for mailing information.
