OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT URGES NEW YORKERS TO EXERCISE CAUTION DURING ICE STORM
Because of the inclement weather conditions in the City overnight, including an ice storm warning issued by the National Weather Service, all New Yorkers should exercise caution and allow extra time for travel.
The ice storm warning is in effect until 9:00 AM and more than a half an inch of ice may accumulate on sidewalks and roadways.
During the peak of the morning rush hour roads and sidewalks may be slippery and dangerous. New York City public schools and government offices will be open. There may be mass transit delays, New Yorkers should use their best judgment to adapt to their local conditions. Please check the MTA website at www.mta.info for the latest on mass transit service.
