COMMUNITY INFORMATION

  • Resident assistance: For assistance with the recovery process e-mail cranehelp@oem.nyc.gov. Residents affected by the crane collapse in need of emergency financial assistance should contact the Human Resources Administration at the East End Job Center at 2322 Third Ave. Call 212-860-6477 or 212-860-3307 for hours. Bring photo ID, proof of address, and a Red Cross referral and vacate order information, if possible.
  • Legal Information: On Thursday, June 12, from 6 - 7:30 PM, the New York City Bar will host a legal information session  at the Stanely Isaacs Neighborhood Center (415 East 93rd St.) for residents and businesses affected by the crane collapse.
  • Mail: Mail service has been restored to of 354 E. 91st St.
  • Insurance: For information about insurance, tenants should call the New York State Insurance Department at (800) 480-6400.
  • Prescriptions: All prescriptions filled at Duane Reade's 1749 1st Ave. location have been transferred to the Duane Reade at 401 E. 86th St. and 1st Avenue. For more information please call 917-492-8801.
  • For additional recovery services or crisis counseling call the American Red Cross at 1-877-REDCROSS (1-877-733-2767) or go to www.nyredcross.org.

CRISIS COUNSELING

  • Disaster Chaplaincy Services offers spiritual and emotional post-disaster counseling. Call 646-879-9029 to speak to a chaplain.
  • LifeNet hosts a 24/7 crisis hotline with counseling services in a variety of languages. For help in English call 1-800-LIFENET (1-800-543-3638); para servicios en Espanol marca 1-877-AYUDESE (1-877-298-3373); for Asian languages call 1877-990-8585; TTY 1-212-982-5284.
  • The NYC Department of Health & Mental Hygiene, the American Red Cross in Greater New York, and Disaster Chaplaincy Services have provided the following downloads for those who have endured traumatic events:

BUILDING STATUS: 1749 1st Ave. / 354 East 91st St.    

  • Undamaged apartments in the building may now be reoccupied. Tenants in these apartments may return. Vacate orders remain in effect for some apartments in the 3 and 2/4 lines, as well as the penthouse.
  • Residents whose apartments are damaged and still under repair may contact the Department of Buildings (DOB) for more information at 212-227-4416. Removal of items in apartments may be necessary to finish reparation. DOB personnel will be at the building to escort residents into vacated apartments to gather belongings, senven days a week until all tenants are accommodated.
  • Residents who need to get into their affected apartments need to make an appointment with DOB at 212-227-4416 and coordinate with building management.
  • The building continues to undergo repairs and the building will allow residents to re-enter when the apartments are ready for reoccupancy.
  • Parking: Residents who have cars in the building parking lot may now re-enter the lot.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS

  • The parking lane on 1st Avenue, the western-most lane, remains closed from 90th to 92nd Streets.
