2006 Hazard Awareness Campaign
In September 2006, OEM introduced an advertising program that encouraged New Yorkers to think about the different types of hazards they may face. The campaign reminded New Yorkers that hurricanes, blackouts, and floods can and do happen in New York City, and there are simple ways to prepare for these and other hazards. The ads urged New Yorkers to "get informed, be prepared, and have a plan."
