Members of the UBS CERT
Corporate CERT is a business-sponsored training program to strengthen employees' ability to address emergencies. Corporate CERTs can also serve as extensions of their community counterparts.
In spring 2008, the second corporate
CERT, comprised of 31 dedicated employees from UBS, completed their 11-week
training. Since that time, they have
continued to bring real-world knowledge about emergency preparedness and
response into their business continuity and operating plans. The team is planning several educational
lectures for future team meetings and working with the BNP corporate team.
In June 2007, the NYC CERT program first expanded into the private
sector with the creation of a Corporate Volunteer Emergency Response Team, or
CoVERT™, at BNP Paribas.
The French bank recruited more than 50 employees to comprise the team.
These volunteers received training in disaster preparedness and emergency
response, enhancing the capabilities of its crisis management team and
strengthening the community through a partnership with the local CERT
team.
