Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory and Reduction Strategy
OEC directs the City's participation in the Cities for Climate Protection (CCP) Campaign, a project of the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (ICLEI). The CCP Campaign is designed to allow local governments to design and implement strategies to reduce their operations' greenhouse gas emissions. The CCP process involves conducting an inventory of greenhouse gas emissions and establishing an emissions reduction target. An action plan is then developed to achieve this reduction target. OEC has completed the first stage in this process by completing a baseline inventory and emissions forecast and the setting of a reduction target of 20% below 1995 levels by 2010.
