On March 23, 2012, the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Economic Development (ODMED), as lead agency for the CEQR environmental review, issued the Notice of Completion for the Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement (DGEIS) for the Seward Park Mixed-Use Development Project. This marks the beginning of the public comment period for the DGEIS.  A public hearing on the DGEIS will be held in conjunction with the public hearing on the associated Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP) applications at a date to be announced.  On September 7, 2011, ODMED issued a Positive Declaration for The Seward Park Mixed-Use Development Project and directed that a Draft Generic Environmental Impact Statement (DGEIS) be prepared. At the same time, a Draft Scope of Work for an EIS was issued for public comment. To receive public comments, a public Scoping Meeting was held on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at The University Settlement House, 184 Eldridge Street, New York, NY.  Written comments on the Draft Scope of Work were accepted until 5:00 PM on Friday, October 21, 2011. A Final Scope of Work for an EIS was published on March 15, 2012.
