Application

The application period for all courses will open on September 15 2009. Space is limited and we expect this to be a very competitive program.

Individuals meeting the indicated eligibility criteria are encouraged to fill out and submit the on-line preliminary application form.

As part of the preliminary application, applicants will be asked to describe 1) how the training course is directly relevant to their current job duties; and 2) how they propose to share the knowledge and skills gained with colleagues.

Upon initial review, eligible applicants will be contacted by the Training Program Coordinator and asked to submit

  • a current resume or curriculum vitae (CV); and
  • verification of  current employment in a position with death investigation responsibilities.

NOTE: You will only be asked to submit additional documentation if your preliminary application meets the selection criteria.

Admission to the Course will be on a rolling basis. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply NOW, as space is limited.

Cost

The current Training Program courses are offered without cost to the applicant. Through the NIJ grant, all participant expenses will be paid, including travel, meals, and accommodations in New York City. Course materials and supplies will also be provided. Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop computer.
