Letters of Support

Letters of Support Requests
If your organization wishes to be considered for a letter of support from the Mayor’s Office to Combat Domestic Violence (OCDV) for the purpose of applying for non-City funding for a particular grant, we will need your grant application narrative and budget at least two weeks in advance. Please contact us at (212) 788-3156.

Your request will be reviewed promptly to determine if a letter of support for your organization can be written to the particular non-City grant-making entity.

Linkage Agreements
The NYC Mayor’s Office to Combat Domestic Violence receives numerous requests from partners for linkage agreements and letters of support to assist in applications for grant/funding opportunities.  In an effort to streamline these requests and ensure that OCDV has adequate advance time to meet deadlines, we have developed new protocols for submitting and responding to all requests.

Any request for a letter of support or linkage agreement from the NYC Mayor’s Office to Combat Domestic Violence must be received at least two weeks in advance of the requested return date and must include the following information:

  • Name, summary and funder of the grant, including an online link to the RFP/grant announcement
  • Summary of the agency’s grant proposal
  • Brief overview of the agency
  • Brief summary of the agency’s current work with OCDV
  • Grant proposal due date
  • Requested return date for the letter of support/linkage agreement

All requests should be sent directly to OCDV at GrantSupport@ocdv.nyc.gov.

A request for a letter of support or linkage agreement is not guaranteed.  All requests will be reviewed to see if the proposal is domestic violence related and in line with the mission of OCDV.

If we are unable to provide support, OCDV’s General Counsel will send an email notification to the agency about the denial of their request and the reason for the denial, as appropriate.
