ALJ Alessandra Zorgniotti recommended termination of a laboratory associate who refused a reassignment from a pathology lab to a chemistry lab. Generally, a civil servant must obey an order when given and subsequently challenge it through formal grievance procedures if there are objections.

Contractor responsible for interior MEP painting.

The Contract Dispute Resolution Board, chaired by ALJ Zorgniotti, denied a claim by a contractor that it was not responsible for painting interior mechanical, electrical and plumbing work in a Department of Sanitation garage.

Vehicle Retention


Police Department entitled to retain car.

ALJ John Spooner ruled that the Police Department is entitled to retain a car it seized pursuant to the arrest of the owner and a companion for criminal possession of a loaded gun.

$104,290 late fees recommended for lobbyist who failed to file on multiple occasions.

ALJ Ingrid Addison found that lobbyist failed to file annual statements for registration for 2007 and 2008, and periodic reports for ten reporting periods. Initial fee of $10 per day recommended for first late filing plus $25 per day fine for subsequent late filings results in recommended late fees of $104,290.
