The In-Service Tactical Training Unit's primary function is the reinforcement of proper tactics for the patrol officer.  Our mission is to reinforce and refresh the in-service police officer in the proper use of tactics during the course of routine patrol.  Instruction is also given in legal matters and terrorism identification.  Instruction is provided through a combination of classroom lecture and hands on role playing scenarios.  Our goal is to create a positive learning environment through the use of peer to peer facilitation and discussion.  The In-Tac Training Unit contributes to the success of the Department’s efforts to reduce crime, defeat terrorism, and improve relations with the many communities present within the city.
