The 123 Precinct is located on the south shore of Staten Island. This command is the second largest precinct in area in NY covering some 17.5 square miles. It is also the second fastest growing precinct in population in the City, with an increase of over 33% in the ten years since the 1990 census. As a result of this increase in residential and commercial growth, police resources are fully utilized.Much of the command consists of one or two family housing with many townhouses and condominium developments. There are numerous strip-mall shopping centers throughout the command as well as several State and City Parks.
