As Commanding Officer of the 79th
Precinct, and on behalf of all the members of this command, I welcome you to our
website. I have been assigned as the Commanding Officer of the 79 since May 5,
2010 and look forward to continuing the command's mission of crime reduction and
the improvement of overall quality of life within the Bedford - Stuyvesant
section of Brooklyn. I have been a member of the New York City Police Department
since January of 1992 and have worked in the following commands: 52nd Precinct,
Queens Narcotics Division, Midtown South Precinct, 113th Precinct, Police
Service Area #8 the Queens Detective Bureau, and spent the past three and a half
years as the Commanding Officer of Police Service Area # 7 which covered 22
Housing developments in the South Bronx.
Our mission is to continue to provide the safest environment for
our residents, their guests and those conducting business within our Precinct.
We strive to accomplish this by continuing to build upon our existing
partnership between the members of the Community and all of the hard working
uniformed and civilian members of the command.
I will continue to implement strategic deployment of my officers
in a continuing effort to combat violent crimes, narcotic sales and usage, and
quality of life issues. In order for us to maintain our success with crime
reduction and the improvement of quality of life we will need the help of the
residents and community leaders. Communication with community members is a key
to continued success. It is imperative that your concerns and problems are
brought to my attention, in order for them to be addressed in an expeditious
manner. All of the men and women working in the 79th Precinct will
remain vigilant in their efforts to ensure a safe and secure community for
everyone.
