	Deputy Inspector William McSorley Crime Statistics 450 Cross Bronx Expressway, Bronx, NY, 10457 (718) 299-3900 The 48th Precinct area can be described as economically depressed insofar as many of the residents are in the middle to lower income strata with a multifarious ethnic make-up. At the same time it can be considered vital, where new businesses are moving in. Also, many abandoned buildings have been or are in the process of being restored while one and two family units are being built up on previous empty lots.
