NEW YORK CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES STREET CLOSURES AND EXPECTED TRAFFIC DELAYS FOR DECEMBER 22 & 23 , 2012

The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend December 22 & 23 2012. Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:

The following events may have a significant impact on the flow of traffic in the areas indicated:

The New York City Department of Transportation has announced the following dates as Gridlock Alert Days for the upcoming holiday season:

· Friday, December 14th

· Wednesday, December 19th

· Thursday, December 20th

· Friday, December 21st

On all holiday season Gridlock Alert Days during the holiday embargo, lane closures are prohibited from 6:00 AM to 11:59 PM on the following highways (and their service roads) and East/Harlem River Bridges (work behind permanent barrier, not impacting on vehicular, bicycle, or pedestrian traffic flow may continue)–
