NEW YORK CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES STREET CLOSURES AND EXPECTED TRAFFIC DELAYS FOR MAY 5th & 6th , 2012

Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:

The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend May 5th & 6th , 2012. Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:

Special Traffic Advisory

TD Five Boro Bike Tour

On Sunday, May 6th the Staten Island-bound lower level of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge will be closed to traffic between 0001 & 1800 for the annual TD Bank Five Boro Bike Tour.

The Brooklyn-bound lower level of the bridge will also close at 0001, and two of three lanes will reopen at approximately 0800.

The upper level of the bridge will remain open in both directions throughout the event. Motorists should expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible.

In addition, traffic exiting the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel in Brooklyn will be diverted to Hamilton Avenue between 1000 and 1530.

The ramp to the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge from the FDR Drive will be closed from 0800 until 1200, and all Manhattan-bound traffic must exit at 125th Street.
