NEW YORK CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES STREET CLOSURES AND EXPECTED TRAFFIC DELAYS FOR APRIL 20TH, 21ST AND 22ND, 2012

The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend April 20th, 21st & 22nd, 2012.  Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:
 
 
The following events may have a significant impact on the flow of traffic in the areas indicated:
 
 
Special Traffic Advisory
 
The next occurrence of weekend-long single tube closures at the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel is scheduled for Friday, April 20th.
All closures will be from 10 p.m. on Friday through 5 a.m. on Monday. Two-way traffic will be maintained in the open tube.
The work is part of the $43.5 million Capital improvement project to replace the tunnel’s original 1950s-era electrical switches and feeder cables.
 
The scheduled closure of one complete tube (2 lanes) follows: 
                Fri., April 20th, through Mon., April 23rd 
                Fri., April 27th, through Mon., April 30th
 
Motorists are advised to expect delays and use an alternate route. 
 
Holland Tunnel w/b tube to NJ will be closed for resurfacing this Saturday & Sunday, 0100 x 0800.
Traffic will be diverted to Lincoln Tunnel
