The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend February 3rd, 4th & 5th, 2012. Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:
The following events may have a significant impact on the flow of traffic in the areas indicated:
Thursday, January 19th through Monday, February 27th
MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK-LOAD IN/OUT
Manhattan: 0700 x 2300 (January 19th – February 27th)
Locations:
West 65th Street on the North;
West 60th Street on the South;
Columbus Avenue/ 9th Avenue on the East;
Amsterdam Avenue on the West (All inclusive)
The above streets will be closed for this event
Saturday February 4th 0600 through 2200 hrs Sunday February 5th
WEEKEND FULL CLOSURE @ 99 WASHINGTON STREET
There will be a full closure of the following streets to facilitate construction of a tower crane @ 99 Washington Street:
Washington Street between Albany & JP Ward Streets
Rector Street between West & Greenwich Streets
Carlisle Street between Greenwich & West Streets
Traffic Agents will be assigned Saturday & Sunday from 0600 x 2100, to cover the following intersections:
Albany & West Streets; Albany & Washington Streets; Albany & Greenwich Streets; Greenwich & Rector Streets; Rector Street & Trinity Place
Saturday & Sunday, February 4th, 5th & 11th, 12th
QUEENSBORO BRIDGE RAMP CLOSURES
The Thompson Avenue approach ramps to/from the North & South Upper roadways will be closed Saturday & Sunday 0200 x 1400 hrs to facilitate NYCT overhead track replacement work. Manhattan bound vehicles wishing to enter the Upper Level (passenger cars only) should proceed to the 21st Street/ Queens Plaza North entrance. Other Manhattan bound vehicles may use the Lower Level entrance @ Queens Plaza North/Crescent Street. Queens bound motorists on the Upper Level will be routed to the 21st Street Exit and should proceed s/b to 44th Drive, then e/b for access to Thompson Avenue.
