The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend January 13th, 14th & 15th, 2012. Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:
Friday, January 13th
BROOKLYN BATTERY TUNNEL WEEKEND TUBE CLOSURE
Friday, January 13th thru Monday, January 16th: 2200 – 0500
One tube will be closed to facilitate replacement of outdated equipment. Two-way traffic will be maintained in the other tube. Motorists should expect delays and consider alternate routes. Work is weather sensitive and may be rescheduled in the event of a winter storm. Additional weekend closures are scheduled for February 10th– 13th, 17th– 20th, 24th– 27th and March 2nd– 5th.
Saturday, January 14th
BROADWAY LANE CLOSURE FOR CRANE INSTALLATION
There will be a two-lane closure of Broadway between John Street & Maiden Lane to facilitate the construction and installation of a tower crane. Concurrently, there is also a full closure of John Street between Broadway & Nassau Street. Both closure hours are Saturday, January 14th from 0001 to 2359 hours. One lane of traffic will be available on Broadway through the work zone.
Traffic agents will be assigned to this area from 0700 x 1900. A detour is posted @ e/b Liberty Street & n/b Nassau Street for motorists to continue on e/b John Street.
