NEW YORK CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES STREET CLOSURES AND EXPECTED TRAFFIC DELAYS FOR December 16th, 17th & 18th, 2011

The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend of December 16th,  17th & 18th,  2011.  Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:

The following events may have a significant impact on the flow of traffic in the areas indicated:

2011 HOLIDAY SEASON GRIDLOCK ALERT DAYS

The New York City Department of Transportation has announced the following dates as Gridlock Alert Days for the 2011 holiday season:
Friday, December 16th, Wednesday, December 21st, Thursday, December 22nd, Friday, December 23rd

On all Gridlock Alert Days, lane closures are prohibited from 0600 to 2359 on the following roadways, their service roads and East & Harlem River Bridges. Work behind permanent barriers may continue:

Gowanus Expressway
Prospect Expressway

Manhattan
Miller Hwy/Henry Hudson Pkwy
FDR Drive/Harlem River Drive
