The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend of December 3rd & 4th, 2011. Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:

2011 HOLIDAY SEASON GRIDLOCK ALERT DAYS
The New York City Department of Transportation has announced the following dates as Gridlock Alert Days for the 2011 holiday season:
Friday, December 9th, Thursday, December 15th, Friday, December 16th
Wednesday, December 21st, Thursday, December 22nd, Friday, December 23rd
On all Gridlock Alert Days, lane closures are prohibited from 0600 to 2359 on the following roadways, their service roads and East & Harlem River Bridges. Work behind permanent barriers may continue:

One tube of the BBT will be closed from 2300 Friday, December 2nd, thru 0500 Monday, December 5th, to facilitate electrical work. Two-way traffic maintained in the other tube.
