STREET CLOSURES AND EXPECTED TRAFFIC DELAYS FOR NOVEMBER 5 AND 6, 2011 |

The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend of November 5th & 6th, 2011. The following events may have a significant impact on the flow of traffic in the areas indicated:
WALL STREET WEEKEND FILMING ZONE On Saturday, Nov 5th & Sunday Nov 6th from 0600 x 1900 the area around Wall & Broad Streets will have both vehicular and pedestrian closures due to movie filming. The Filming Zone includes: Wall Street between Broadway & Pearl Street; Broad Street between Exchange Place & Cedar Street; and William Street between Exchange Place & Pine Street. The Pedestrian area closed to the general public includes Pine Street between Broadway & Nassau Street; Exchange Place between Broadway & Broad Street and New Street between Beaver Street & Wall Street. Barricades will be in place and motorists can expect delays in this area. Saturday, November 5th AMERICAN DIABETES ASSOC. BLOCK PARTY Manhattan: 1100 x 1600 Madison Avenue between 42nd Street and 57th Street closed NYC MARATHON INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP RUN Manhattan: 0830 x 1130 Formation: 1st Avenue at UN Plaza Route: 1st Avenue between East 50th Street and East 42nd Street; 42nd Street between 1st Avenue and 6th Avenue; 6th Avenue between West 42nd Street and West 59th Street Dispersal: West 59th Street between 6th Avenue and Columbus Circle (Merchant’s Gate) The above streets will be closed for this event Sunday, November 6th NYC MARATHON FAMILY REUNION Manhattan: 1000 x 1830 Location(s): Central Park West between 71st Street and 86th Street; 71st – 77th Streets between Central Park West & Columbus Avenue; 81st Street between Central Park West & Columbus Avenue; Columbus Avenue between 81st & 71st Streets The above streets will be closed for this event MIDTOWN SOUTH COMMUNITY COUNCIL 6th AVE AUTUMN FAIR Manhattan: 1100 x 1600 6th Avenue between 34th Street and 42nd Street closed MIDDLE VILLAGE VETERAN’S DAY PARADE Queens: 1200 x 1500 Formation: 80th Street between Juniper Valley Road and Metropolitan Avenue Route: Metropolitan Avenue between 80th Street and 65th Lane (Rentar Plaza) Dispersal: Into Rentar Plaza The above streets will be closed for this event TOYS FOR TOTS MOTORCYCLE RUN Queens: 1100 Start Route: Forest Park parking lot to Woodhaven Blvd; N on Woodhaven Blvd to Union Tpke; E on Union Tpke to Winchester Blvd; S on Winchester Blvd to Creedmoor parking lot Rolling closures will minimize the impact of this event on the motoring public SPECIAL TRAFFIC ADVISORY: NYC MARATHON Verrazano-Narrows Bridge completely closed to traffic 0700 x 1500. Upper level closures begin Saturday, Nov 5th @ 2300 to allow for race preparation. Vehicles containing hazardous materials will not be permitted to cross the bridge in either direction at this time. The Bay Street & Lily Pond Avenue exits in Staten Island will close @ 0300 on Sunday. Motorists traveling to Brooklyn or Staten Island via the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge should seek alternate routes.
