STREET CLOSURES AND EXPECTED TRAFFIC DELAYS FOR November 19th & 20th, 2011

The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend of November 19th & 20th,  2011.  

The following events may have a significant impact on the flow of traffic in the areas indicated. In addition, see Holiday Season Gridlock Alert Days:

  

 

BROOKLYN BATTERY TUNNEL WEEKEND CLOSURE

One tube of the BBT will be closed from 2300 Friday, November 18th, thru 0500 Monday, Nov 21st to facilitate electrical work. Two – way traffic maintained in the other tube. This closure will also occur on the weekend of Dec 2nd – 5th

ST. JUDE’S CHILDREN’S RESEARCH HOSPITAL FUNDRAISER WALK

Manhattan/Brooklyn:         1000 x 1200

Formation: Foley Square

Route: Brooklyn Bridge Pedestrian Way

Dispersal: Cadman Plaza

 

BROOKLYN HARLEY-DAVIDSON TOYS FOR TOTS MOTORCYCLE RIDE

Brooklyn:                1200 Start

Start: 3449 Fort Hamilton Parkway

Route: E on Fort Hamilton Pkwy to McDonald Ave; S on McDonald Ave to Church Ave; E on Church Ave to Ocean Pkwy; S on Ocean Pkwy to Neptune Ave; W on Neptune Ave to W 21st St; S on W 21st St to arrival @ La Puenta Child Center

End: W 21st St & Neptune Ave

Rolling closures will minimize the impact of this event on the motoring public

Broadway between Liberty Street and Battery Place closed

 

2011 HOLIDAY SEASON GRIDLOCK ALERT DAYS

 

The New York City Department of Transportation has announced the following dates as Gridlock Alert Days for the 2011 holiday season:

Wednesday, November 23rd (day before Thanksgiving)

Wednesday, November 30th (Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting)

Friday, December 9th, Thursday, December 15th, Friday, December 16th

Wednesday, December 21st, Thursday, December 22nd, Friday, December 23rd

 

On all Gridlock Alert Days, lane closures are prohibited from 0600 to 2359 on the following roadways, their service roads and East & Harlem River Bridges. Work behind permanent barriers may continue:
