NEW YORK CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES STREET CLOSURES AND EXPECTED TRAFFIC DELAYS FOR October 28th, 29th & 30th, 2011

The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend of October 28th, 29th & 30th, 2011. Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:


The following events may have a significant impact on the flow of traffic in the areas indicated:


TRAFFIC ADVISORY:

TEMPORARY FULL CLOSURE OF S/B FDR RAMP TO BROOKLYN BRIDGE


The S/B FDR Drive ramp onto the Brooklyn Bridge will be closed from 2300 hours on Friday, October 28, 2011 through 0600 hours on Monday, October 31, 2011 to facilitate Brooklyn Bridge ramp and roadway reconstruction.

Brooklyn-bound traffic from south bound FDR Drive may continue to Brooklyn using a detour through the local street network to the Brooklyn Bridge Pearl Street on-ramp as follows:

FDR Drive: Exit #2 (Manhattan Civic Center/Pace University) to off-ramp onto Robert Wagner Place Turn left onto Pearl Street to access the ramp onto the Brooklyn Bridge

The Brooklyn Bridge off-ramp onto Pearl Street will be closed to Manhattan-bound traffic during this closure.

Vehicles continuing south bound on the FDR Drive until Exit #1(South Street) will "U-turn" at the South Street turn-around to access n/b FDR Drive Exit #2 onto the Brooklyn Bridge. During this ramp closure all other traffic changes usually associated with this project will be SUSPENDED including:* 1. Contra-flow traffic reversal 2. Closure of the n/b FDR Exit #2 3. Closure of Dover Street

*Regular Detours/Reversals will resume at 2300 hours on Monday 10/31/11.

WALL STREET WEEKEND FILMING ZONE

On Saturday, Oct 29th & Sunday Oct 30th from 0600 x 1900 the area around Wall & Broad Streets will have both vehicular and pedestrian closures due to movie filming.

The Filming Zone includes: Wall Street between Broadway & Pearl Street; Broad Street between Exchange Place & Cedar Street; and William Street between Exchange Place & Pine Street.

The Pedestrian area closed to the general public includes Pine Street between Broadway & Nassau Street; Exchange Place between Broadway & Broad Street and New Street between Beaver Street & Wall Street.

Barricades will be in place and motorists can expect delays in this area.

Dispersal: 120th Street between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue

The above streets will be closed for this event

Brooklyn: 1830 x 2100

Formation: 14th Street between 8th & 7th Avenues

Route: 7th Avenue between 14th & 3rd Streets

Dispersal: 3rd Street between 7th & 4th Avenues

The above streets will be closed for this event


TOYS FOR TOTS MOTORCYCLE RUN

Queens: 1100 Start

Route: Forest Park parking lot to Woodhaven Blvd; N on Woodhaven Blvd to Union Tpke; E on Union Tpke to Winchester Blvd; S on Winchester Blvd to Creedmoor parking lot

Rolling closures will minimize the impact of this event on the motoring public.
