NEW YORK CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES STREET CLOSURES AND EXPECTED TRAFFIC DELAYS FOR SEPTEMBER 24th & 25th, 2011

The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend of September 24th & 25th, 2011.  Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:

The following events may have a significant impact on the flow of traffic in the areas indicated:

Thursday, September 15 – Sunday, September 25, 2011

SAN GENNARO FESTIVAL 
Manhattan:        1100 x 2300
Location:
Mott Street between Canal Street and East Houston Street
Mulberry Street between Canal Street and East Houston Street
Baxter Street between Canal Street and Broome Street
Centre Street / Cleveland Place / Lafayette Street between Canal Street and East Houston Street
Canal Street between Bowery and Centre Street
Hester Street between Mott Street and Centre Street
Grand Street between Mott Street and Centre Street
Broome Street between Mott Street and Centre Street / Cleveland Place
Kenmare Street between Mott Street and Cleveland Place
Spring Street between Mott Street and Cleveland Place / Lafayette Street
Prince Street between Mott Street and Lafayette Street

The Brooklyn Battery Tunnel will be closed in both directions for “Tunnel to Towers Run“ from 0800 x 1500.  The Manhattan-bound tube will be closed starting at 2300 Sept 24th. Two–way traffic will be in the Brooklyn-bound tube beginning at this time.
The Battery Park Underpass will also be closed in both directions from 0800 x 1500
