NEW YORK CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES STREET CLOSURES AND EXPECTED TRAFFIC DELAYS FOR JULY 23rd & 24th

The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend of July 23rd and 24th, 2011.  Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:

Saturday, July 23rd

HUDSON SQUARE CHILDREN’S ART STUDIO (DOT WEEKEND WALKS)
Manhattan:
    1100 x 1800
Charlton Street between Hudson & Greenwich Streets closed

VANDERBILT YMCA STREET FAIR
Manhattan:
    1100 x 1800
2nd Avenue between 57th & 46th Streets closed

BRONX SUMMER WALKS BURNSIDE AVENUE (DOT Weekend Walks)
Bronx:
     1100 x 1800
West Burnside Avenue between Davidson & Jerome Avenues closed

VAN DUZER DAYS (DOT Weekend Walks)
Staten Island:
1100 x 1800
Van Duzer Street between Beach & Wright Streets closed

Sunday, July 24th

MARCH FOR MARRIAGE
Manhattan:
    1500 x 1800
Route: Start at Governor’s Office, 633 3rd Avenue; North on e/s of Third Ave to Dag Hammerskjold Plaza, 47th Street& 1st Ave. Approximately 5,000 people expected at this location
Buses will be dropping off s approximately 1,000 participants on Lexington Avenue between East 39th & East 36th Streets. Additionally, approximately 50 buses will be staged on w/s of 2nd Avenue from East 48th to East 57th Streets. Motorists should expect delays

SUMMER STREETS ON 204th (DOT Weekend Walks)
Bronx:
     1100 x 1800
East 204th Street between Bainbridge & Perry Avenues closed

GRAN PARADA DOMINICANA DEL BRONX
Bronx:
           1100 x 1800
Formation: Grand concourse between Cross Bronx Expressway & East 178th Street
Route: Grand Concourse between Cross Bronx Expressway & 166th Street
Dispersal: Grand Concourse between 166th & 167th Streets

Demo Area: South side of Worth Street, Lafayette to Centre Street.  Expect 3,000 participants
Press Area: West side of Centre Street, Worth to Duane Street; South side of Worth Street, Baxter to Centre Street
Queue Line: North side of Worth Street; West to Centre; North on Centre to Hogan; East on Hogan
