NEW YORK CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES STREET CLOSURES AND EXPECTED TRAFFIC DELAYS FOR August 5th, 6th & 7th , 2011

 The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend of August 5th, 6th  & 7th, 2011.  Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:

 

 

Friday, August 5th

 

COMMUNITY BOARD 1 – FINANCIAL COMMUNITY DAY FAIR

Manhattan:                                        1100 x 1800

Liberty Street between Trinity Place & Nassau Street closed

 

Saturday, August 6th

 

SUMMER STREETS

 

Manhattan: 0700 x 1300 (Aug 6, 13, 20)

A car-free route will be in place each Saturday from the Brooklyn Bridge to 72nd Street from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. Vehicular traffic will not be permitted from Centre Street north to Lafayette Street and continuing north to 4th Avenue and Park Avenue to E. 72nd Street where the closure will extend west into Central Park along the southern half of 72nd Street. Major cross-town streets will remain open for vehicles that need to cross the route. These streets are:

Swimming Portion: Hudson River from 98th to 79th Streets

Bike Portion: Henry Hudson Parkway n/b from 79th Street; Cross n/b Henry Hudson Bridge; Exit to Mosholu Parkway & Make u-turn @ West Gun Hill Road and return southbound along the same route

Running Portion: W 72nd Street e/b & w/b between Riverside Drive & Central Park West

Road closures 0430 x 1100:

West Side Highway/ Henry Hudson Parkway northbound lanes– 57th Street to Mosholu Parkway;

Mosholu Parkway from Henry Hudson Parkway to Gun Hill Road;

Riverside Drive from 79th to 72nd Streets;

79th Street from Riverside Drive to Hudson River

72nd Street from Henry Hudson Parkway to Central Park West

The N/b lanes of the Henry Hudson Bridge are closed 0400 x 1200 for NYC Triathlon
