The New York City Department of Transportation has announced the following dates as Gridlock Alert Days for the upcoming holiday season
• Wednesday, November 25th (day before Thanksgiving)
• Wednesday, December 2nd (Rockefeller Center Christmas tree Lighting)
• Friday, December 4th
• Friday, December 11th
• Wednesday, December 16th
• Thursday, December 17th
• Friday, December 18th
• Wednesday, December 23rd
On all holiday season Gridlock Alert Days during the holiday embargo, lane
closures are
prohibited from 6:00 AM to 11:59 PM on the following highways and East River
Bridges (work behind permanent barriers may continue)
Also, construction will be lifted beginning Wed Nov 25 (Gridlock Alert Day)
and construction embargoes will remain in effect through the Thanksgiving
Holiday weekend.
