The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend of November 7th & 8th 2009. Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:

traffic (Cars Only) will run in the other tube
Repair
work in the Queens Midtown Tunnel will result in the closure of both lanes of
the Manhattan-bound tube beginning 0100 Sunday Nov 8, thru 0500 Monday Nov 9.
Two-way traffic will be in effect in the other tube for cars only. Trucks are
asked to use either the RFK Bridge or the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel.
Signs
will be in place alerting motorists to the closure. On the Queens side of
the tunnel detour signs will direct motorists @ 50th Ave to use the
21st St entrance ramp instead of the 11th St entrance ramp
which will be closed. Cars using the Queens bound tube into Manhattan
during two-way traffic operations will exit @ East 36th St &
2nd Ave or East 37th St. In addition to detour signs, NYPD
Traffic Agents will be on hand to help direct motorists
