The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend of August 8th and 9th, 2009. Drivers should expect delays in the following areas:

SUMMER STREETS ON PARK AVENUE

Manhattan: 0700 x 1300 (Aug 8, 15, & 22)

Centre Street between Brooklyn Bridge exit & Reade Street; Lafayette Street between Reade & 9th Streets (w/s); Wanamaker Place (e/s); 4th Avenue between 10th & 14th Streets; Park Avenue between 14th & 72nd Streets; 72nd Street between Park & 5th Avenues; Cleveland Place from Kenmare Street to Lafayette/Spring Streets; East 12th Street between 3rd & 4th Avenues; East 24th Street between Park & Madison Avenues; East 51st Street between Park & Lexington Avenues.

The above streets will be closed for this event

SUNNYSIDE SHINES BID WEEKEND WALKS

Queens:       1100 x 1800 (Aug 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29)

46th Street between Queens Boulevard & Greenpoint Avenue closed

NYCDOT DOWNTOWN S.I. COUNCIL PEDESTRIAN STREETS

Staten Is:     1100 x 1800 (Aug 1, 8, 15 & 22)

Van Duzer Street between Beach & Wright Streets closed

DOMINICAN DAY PARADE

Formation: 37th to 38th Street between Broadway & Madison Avenue

Route: 6th Avenue between 36th & 56th Streets

Dispersal: 56th Street between Madison & 7th Avenues
