The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend of October 15th and 16th, 2009. Drivers should expect delays in the following areas: |

The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and anticipated traffic delays for the weekend of October 15th and 16th, 2009. Drivers should expect delays in the following areas: SPECIAL NOTICE Full closure of n/b FDR Drive - E Houston to E 23rd Streets On the evening of Friday, Oct 15th @ 2300 hrs, the n/b FDR Drive will be reduced to one lane from E Houston to E 23rd Streets. All three n/b lanes of the FDR Drive will be closed to traffic from East Houston St to East 20th St as well as the n/b East 20/23rd St Exit beginning 0001 hrs Saturday and continuing until 0800 Sunday to facilitate roadway repair work. All n/b traffic will exit @ E. Houston St. and continue w/b for five blocks along Houston St. At 1st Ave, traffic will proceed n/b to 23rd St. where it will then turn east for two blocks and re-enter the FDR n/b. NYPD Traffic Agents will be stationed along detour routes as well as fixed and variable message signs. The s/b lanes of the FDR Drive will be unaffected and remain open throughout this period.
