The New York City Police Department today announced street closures and detours for the Halloween Parade on Wednesday, October 31. The parade begins at 7 p.m. and runs along Sixth Avenue between Canal Street and 23rd Street. Because heavy traffic is expected in the area all night, mass transit is strongly recommended.
From 6 p.m. until the end of the parade, the following traffic rules will be in effect:
- Sixth Avenue will be closed from Canal and 23rd Street.
- 21st Street and 22nd Street will be closed from Fifth Avenue
to Seventh Avenue.
- Traffic will only be permitted to cross the parade route at West Houston Street and 14th Street.
